At Textil Santanderina we create sustainable, ethical, environmentally friendly fashion that cares for the planet and respects people. That is why we are committed to a responsible attitude, convinced that fashion can be eco-sustainable.
Thanks to a strict environmental policy, we have reduced the generation of waste and atmospheric emissions and we have improved their management, achieving cleaner production.
Since 1989, Textil Santanderina has had its own industrial waste water treatment plant.
At Textil Santanderina we have reduced energy consumption in all our production processes. Our cogeneration plant is one of our best tools for saving energy and keeping to the necessary
carbon dioxide (CO2) emission limits.
We constantly research new formulas for optimising the resources we use in the production cycle. Thanks to this effort, we have minimised water consumption in all our processes and we have developed efficient plans for reusing and recycling resources.
Technological innovation in products and processes is the direction we have established for making progress with sustainability.
We have made a clear commitment to green, sustainable materials in our fabrics, such as Tencel®, recycled cotton, recycled linen, etc.
We use ecological dyes (such as ecoLandye) and chemicals that meet REACH criteria.
Every year we carry out quality, safety and environmental audits to ensure the company is developing responsibly. We study each process in the cycle carefully, making investments to promote energy saving, introduce infrastructure improvements (machinery, auxiliary equipment, etc.) and allow us to ensure sustainability.
Our fabrics have the most widely recognised green certifications in European textiles, guaranteeing that substances harmful to health or nature have not been used during their manufacturing processes.
We work to achieve responsible management of all the company’s internal processes: machinery, management, packaging, etc. to ensure their global traceability, in accordance with our CSR policy.
We feel committed to human rights. For this reason we work for equal pay and responsibility between the sexes, we work with many NGOs to protect human rights at work, and, for some years, we have been a signatory of the UN Global Compact.
We have production plants in developing countries.
There we export our know-how and create quality jobs while always respecting the workers’ human rights.
Committed, as we always have been, to our society, we give tonnes of textiles every year to charitable causes, as well as working with many NGOs and social, sporting and cultural organisations both locally and internationally.
We make textiles for companies that share our commitment to the planet: companies that believe in a more responsible way of doing things. With them, we are moving forward towards more sustainable, ethical fashion.
We maintain permanent dialogue with governments, leaders, trade unions and NGOs to improve the position of workers in the textile industry and plan a more committed future for the sector.
We support training inside and outside the company.
We encourage workers to specialise through refresher courses and we make our experience and facilities available to universities, institutes, schools and vocational training centres.
We mention our commitment to people and the environment on all our labels and communications, helping to publicise our desire for a better world.
Ever since its creation, Textil Santanderina has been deeply committed to society where humanitarian, cultural and
ecological issues are concerned.
